Michael Jordan has become the idol of millions in every recent generation for a reason. His financial standing was also based on the outstanding talent he actively displayed on the basketball court. In his short career by sporting standards, he’s surpassed all previous leaders in the field and rubbed the noses of jealous objectors who might have questioned his abilities. Proof that Jordan can handle any opponent on the floor, five key games have proven his mettle.
Despite a certain “fall” that marked the start of Jordon’s career, he managed to prove in the aftermath that it was only a minor slip or coincidence, including an unfortunate leg injury that forced him to miss an entire season. The team barely survived without him, managing to sneak into the play-offs with a 30-52 result.
Michael’s return to the lineup managed to turn things around. In the battle against Boston, the basketball player was able to put up 49 points, which didn’t improve much. In the second game against his archrival, however, Jordan rose from the dead and managed to surpass even his predecessor, Elgin Baylor, who managed to score over 60 points in a single playoff game. Michael made a clear 22 shots on 41 attempts and 16 free throws out of a possible 21. Despite the loss to the Chicago Bulls, Jordan’s contribution was invaluable.
With Woolridge gone, Jordan was given complete freedom of action. That should have made it easier for the Bulls and rubbed the nose out of their rivals. The basketball legend could have pulled off any trick he wished and emerged the ultimate winner. But he was being prodded in every game. Nevertheless, against Detroit, Michael hit 22 of a possible 39 shots and 17 of 18 free throws. As a result, Jordan allowed his team to secure the coveted podium.
The 1986-87 regular season was one of the best of Michael’s career. The basketball player was on fire and smashed everything and everyone in his path. He already had half a century to go, but he still had to make an effort. So Jordan beat his rivals in Atlanta, including Dominic Wilkins. Unfortunately, it didn’t deliver the win he wanted, but a new line in Michael’s record did.
Michael’s rapid “shellacking” on the season allowed the Chicago Bulls to move steadily towards their goal. Despite some lapses, the team managed to defeat their opponents. In the game with Cleveland, Jordan even managed to “bury” their opponent, considering the way he handled them in their previous games. With 68 points and 18 rebounds, 6 assists and 4 steals, he led his club to victory.
Rounding out Michael Jordan’s top games is the game against Orlando. Despite all the efforts that allowed the team to still win, and often Michael had to literally pull his teammates, “Orlando” was not going to concede. The situation was complicated by the fact that next to Jordan confidently grew Shaquille O’Neal, who also intended to show himself. Orlando won the battle, but Michael’s exploits that night have gone down in basketball history forever.
